Pirates of Tokyo Bay to mark 7th anniversary with Roppongi show on Dec 3rd

Tokyo, Japan, Oct 25, 2017 –  Pirates of Tokyo Bay (POTB), the city's only improv comedy group that performs in both Japanese and English, will be celebrating it's 7th year in Tokyo with a huge show at SuperDeluxe in Roppongi on Sunday, December 3rd. The Pirates are an improvisational comedy group where every show is completely different and based on audience suggestions.  Every show is different.

The 7th anniversary show will feature new guest YouTubers  as well as visiting performers from the Osaka-based group, the Pirates of the Dotombori

The Pirates of Tokyo Bay have had a busy 2017 and are looking forward to celebrating it with their fans in Tokyo.  In January, Pirates Founder, Mike Staffa guest performed in Germany alongside an international cast of performers.  In March, the group toured South-East Asia with shows in Singapore, Manila and Kuala Lumpur. Then in June, the Pirates gave a workshop in Maui, Hawaii to a local comedy group there.  In addition to the international touring the group does, the Pirates of Tokyo Bay are active in the Tokyo community. The group regularly gives workshops at international schools in Tokyo and has partnered with local cancer charity organizations to raise funds for the charities.  In addition, the Pirates have had an active year giving business training to various companies who have hired the Pirates to conduct unique team-building and communication events.  The Pirates specialize in improv theater which revolves around individual quick thinking combined with group trust.  All of these skills are needed by company teams such as Sales, Engineering, and Human Resources.

"2017 has been a huge growth year for the Pirates that we want to end the year with our biggest show ever.  December 3rd will be that show and we hope all our fans can make it to the amazing SuperDeluxe venue in Roppongi" said Pirates Founder, Mike Staffa.

The Pirates are an improvisational group performing in English and Japanese.  Our shows are different every time we perform as we create and personalize each show based on audience suggestions.  Improvisational comedy is a popular comedy style in North America and Europe and is starting to become well-known in Japan.  The Pirates are helping lead this movement through our extensive work with clients like the US Embassy, ConnectUSA, and the Australian Society of Tokyo.

The Pirates have many friends across Asia and love meeting up with them on tour.  Since 2011, the Pirates have been spotted at festivals and shows in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Manila, Kuala Lumpur and New York City.
